The Port of Dover's chief executive, Doug Bannister, initially predicted severe congestion, but recent estimates have been revised to between six and eight hours. The situation has prompted the activation of Operation Brock, a traffic management system designed for a no-deal Brexit scenario, on the M20. This operation includes a dedicated lane for lorries and reduced speeds for other traffic.
